Does anyone even check their livejournals anymore? Can we bring that back somehow? Sometimes it seems as if everything old is new again (90s fashion was terrible when it was still in the 90s, my god why are we bringing it back), so why not push for a resurgence for the old eljay. So here, I'll start:

Hello, my name is Kathryn, and this is my livejournal. Is anyone still out there?

So long Vienna. I'll miss you certainly, but till I make it back to you, I'll remember you fondly.

And special thanks to Matt the Canadian and his mountie teddie bear, for giving me some perspective on the U-Bahn today. I hope your time in the city is as magical as mine was.

Y'all. Y'all.

There is an anime convention. In Vienna. This weekend. I know this now because there were people on the metro in cosplay (I eavesdropped on them even though they were talking in German and I heard the word 'cosplay' so yeah).

The question is: Should I go tomorrow? For great justice? To feel awkward and confused by European fangirls? To satisfy some sick and morbid curiousity in the depths of my soul?

Help me Obi-Wan Flist-nobi. You're my only hope.

HOW TO PROCURE VALUABLE LIFE SKILLS:

1. Eat a parfait instead of legitimate food around dinnertime.

2. Upon inevitably getting hungry later, eat a piece of cake.

3. ...

4. PROFIT!

This was brought to you by my absolutely horrendous eating habits when left to my own devices. But, in my defense, it was a delicious parfait. JE REGRETTE RIEN!

In other news, if I have to analyze another gilded Baroque baby, I might just punch someone.

I did not fall off of the Alps! Success! And, of course, that statement is built upon the sentiment that I CLIMBED a portion of the Alps. As such, I have now been deemed my group's coordinator as a 'Junior Mountain Goat.' It is a rather delightful feeling.

On our return trip from the Alps, our group visited Forchtenstein Castle, which, at least at this point during my month in Austria, has been the highlight of the trip. The reason why? Weapons. Piles upon piles of Austrian, Hungarian, Prussian, and French swords and muskets and cartridge cases and glass grenades. I saw an execution chair! It was truly fabulous, and I must someday return (not least of all because we didn't have time to visit the treasury there).

Pictures will hopefully be posted soon, once I've charged my camera and transferred them to my computer. Ciao!

My Dear Viennese Neighbors,

I know that it's saturday night, and thus a time for partying. I understand that fact, truly I do. But it is now after midnight, and if you don't turn down your shitty Europop within the next fifteen minutes, I will not hesitate to chuck beer bottles at each and every one of your sloshed skulls.

No love,
Me
